Okay, okay. Enough ego stroking, we're moving on. We can talk about how amazing I am later. (Ha ha. There I go again! Wow, I'm worse than a freshman boy on his first day of school.)
Well, happy belated new years everyone! I hope that your past year was full of happiness, tears (good ones!) and smiles. I know mine was! (Even though, ya know, I'm trying to give off the whole teenage vibe and pretending that life is morose and that I don't care about anything. Yeah, my parents love that one. :D) And now, it's time for new years resolutions! Wanna hear some of mine?
- Breathe in and out. (Check. I hope...)
- Eat food. (Yummy.)
- Sleep lots. (Studies show that the more you sleep the smarter and more creative you are. See Maw, I'm not being lazy. I'm being smart!)
- Always wear at least one other color than black to please my mother. (Apparently my eyes being the second color, as they're brown, does not count.)
Wow, that's a lot. I think I'll stop there. :D Don't worry though, starting tommorrow I'm going to be a procrastinator. You can join the club, we'll meet sometime or another. Doesn't really matter to me quite honestly.
And now, for Loryn's funny story of the week. (It was actually pretty good this time.) Ahem.
Once upon a time, there was a New Years Eve party. Loryn's cousin Tinana ba Llama (don't ask, she's just weird...) invited her to the party and so Loryn accepted and off they went.
Towards the end of the party after shakin' to the music and boppin' around as was demanded for such an occasion, another slow dance started. (Dun dun dun!!!) Loryn, who was sitting on the side in a chair with her cousin groaned.
"Ugh!" she said, holding her hand to her head. "I hate this song! It's SO annoying!" (The song was Fall For You, by Secondhand Serenade.)
"How come?" Tinana ba Llama asked. Loryn sighed ever so dramatically and went to explain, but was interupted by an extremely cute guy who said, "Hey do you want to dance?"
"You're asking me?" Loryn asked, eyes widening. (Not that she doesn't get asked to dance much, but she didn't know anyone there. The only people Loryn had danced with that night were Tinana's friends that she forced. :D)
"Yeah, is that okay?" the kid sounded a little scared and Loryn shrugged and got to her feet.
"Yeah, okay," Loryn said.
And it turns out, this boy's name was Zach. He played football at Timpanogos High School (hot!!!), was a junior (yay, older!!), told Loryn that she was cute (awww...), and here's the clincher...
He hugged her too!!!
"You're a really pretty girl," he said, as the song ended. He drew closer, and before Loryn even knew what was happening, he hugged her. "Thanks for the dance!"
That would've been a great time to say something grand, something memorable, but instead Loryn stuttered out a, "Yeah, okay!" and ran away.
Loryn's father, upon hearing about her being hugged by a random boy at the dance, was not happy. Loryn just thought it was pretty hilarious and rolled her eyes.
The moral of this story? Don't let your father know you've hugged a boy. Trust me, you'll thank me later.
And, that's all for this post! It's quite a long one too, so be happy!! And another happy new years to you all!

i once wrote an entire journal entry (that i've contemplated burning) about a boy who asked me to dance at EFY when I was 14. Good grief.
