The State of the Union

Have you ever read something that made your blood boil, made you want to rip it up into shreds, light the pieces on fire, and dance around the ashes laughing at the flames as it devoured that stupid little piece of paper? Well, maybe I'm the only one reading who has those violent intendencies, but that's my problem I'm guessing. Eh, grade's will do that to you though. Stupid, stupid, stupid. And in this case, my whole problem isn't with a little piece of paper with writing on it. In truth, it is a piece of writing, but I can't exactly shred it and burn it... It doesn't work like that.
Eh, okay, I'm sorry. I'm not trying to condemn myself. I'm just trying to... focus on a few things. I'm sorry, pity moment over.
I actually didn't get on my blogger to whine, though I'll admit I do that a lot. I'm here to actually discuss my favorite song at the moment. :D It's by Taylor Swift, and it's called You Belong With Me. If there was ever a song written by a hurting teenage girl, it'd be that song. I still remember the first time I ever heard it, laying on my back in my living room, looking up at the ceiling. The song goes:

You're on the phone with your girlfriend, she's upset

She's going off about something that you said

But she'll never get your humor like I do...

And the whole time I'm listening to that, I started to make comments on the lyrics inside my head, rolling my eyes. Like on the part that's talking about humor I was thinking, "Humor? Ha. You don't have a sense of humor."

I've found that it's a very soothing to lay on my back listening to that song.

And now, I bring you the state of the union. (Translation from Loryn speech into normal people talk: This is a new piece that I'm doing, called the state of the union. Basically, it's just a list of ten songs that, in my mind, have held some significance in my week so far, from the one I like the most, to the one I like the least. Weird much? :D) Okay, here I go.

The State of the Union

1. You Belong With Me-- Taylor Swift (The one discussed above. Held the most weight with me this past week.)
2. Boy Next Door-- Triple Image (Well, this one is the song I found way back and that I used to listen to while I was eight. Just a little girl talking about how she lost the boy next door and how she loved him.)
3. Happy-- Saving Jane (A heartbreaker. Talks about how, no matter how sad this girl is to hear that her friend is in love with someone who isn't her, she'd always be there to be happy for him.)
4. Gotta Be Somebody-- Nickelback (Well, this one explains itself. Just listen to it, and you'll catch the mood I've been in.)
5. Last Kiss-- Pearl Jame (A story of lost love. A tear jerker, beware. It makes me cry every time.)
6. Unbeautiful-- Lesley Roy (A breakup song, where a girl is asking what it was that made her unbeautiful to this guy she loves. It's my favorite song.)
7. Broken-- Lifehouse (Well, the title tells all.)
8. Then I Woke Up-- Clique Girlz (Yeah, well... It's kinda self-explanitory.)
9. Thunder-- Boys Like Girls (Reminds me of the summer. Sometimes I wish I could go back...)
10. I'd Lie-- Taylor Swift (I can't explain this one. Sorry Tay, I know you like it, but for some reason... I dunno. I just don't anymore.)
