Me, me and... Oh yeah! ME!!

Think you know me? Ha ha. Guess again!! Here's a random list of 20 things I bet you didn't , or may actually, know about me. And I know what you're thinking. You're thinking, "Why in the heck is she doing this?" My answer?
Well, why not?
(Yeah, I'm bored. Humor me, please. It was either this or let my brother fling erasers at me. Which, he is actually still doing right now. Cut it out Liam or I'm gonna slug you!!!!)
Ahem. And, without further ado, my list.

THE MOST RANDOM LIST OF THINGS THAT YOU'D EVER WANT TO KNOW ABOUT ME

1. I spell my name all funky. Instead of L-A-U-R-E-N I spell it L-O-R-Y-N. Not sure why... Just something I started in seventh grade and I guess it stuck. Go figure!! :D

2. I am absolutely in LOVE with the color black. That's an understatement. If black were a guy, I'd marry him in a heartbeat. I don't know what it is... the absence of color and feeling is just extrodinary. -sigh- I love it!

3. When I was little, I would steal our eggs from the refridgerator and put them in my clothes drawers, hoping that when I woke up there would be little chickens in my dresser. :) Yeah, my mom didn't really appreciate that stage...

4. I talk to myself in the mirror. Seriously, I look at myself in the mirror and I talk to my reflection. Why? Well... I'm not sure. You should try it sometime though. It's funny.

5. My cousin Tiana and I, when we have sleepovers, stay up until the wee hours of the morning singing show tunes and disney songs. Our favorites include A Whole New World from Aladdin, Part of Your World from the Little Mermaid, and things from the Phantom of the Opera and Wicked.

6. I lost all of my teeth by age eight and had my twelve year old molars at age ten. :D I'm precocious.

7. If I think about eating meat too much I get sick. The thought of little innocent chickens, pigs and cows dying for my dinner plate isn't comforting. That's when I feel the need to barf come over me.

8. I am still completely and totally virgin-lips. (And will be for a while, if I have it my way.) Unlike, of course, a couple of my friends. (And actually, my cousin I'm thinking. Oh Tinana, you gots some splainin' to do!! ;D)

9. I have never had a boyfriend before. (Well duh. I'm only fifteen, but you know what I mean.) I've told everyone time and time again, but no one listens to me! A boyfriend is just like a pet. You have to feed him, you have to groom him, you have to clean up after him, you have to love him... Ah, just too much work. I rather the easy way out. A good book. :D

10. I am a diehard BYU fan. If there's a game, you can be assured that I'll plop down on that couch and watch the game. I get stressed and worked up over all of them, and sometimes when BYU loses, I come really close to crying. (Pathetic much? Ha ha.)

11. I'm a total stickler for things that I believe in. Seriously, trying to sway me to do something that I don't want to do is just like trying to tell a brick wall to move. It doesn't work. But, that's something I'm proud of.

12. I've never had someone win an argument against me, unless it were my parents or Levi. My parents win because they just ground me (just kidding Momsie! I love you!! :D) and Levi wins because the slick-talking-wannabe-lawyer, (who is my brother and only I get to make fun of him like that) has had three more years experience. So really, it's not my fault. I'm just too good at twisting people's words and making them hate me. (Bronte can attest to that.) When arguing with my mother she usually says, "I really hope you and your brothers go on to be lawyers. At least then you wouldn't waste your talents in twisting words!" Ah maw, you shouldn't be so flippant. Maybe I'd love to be a lawyer! :D

13. When I'm upset, I play the piano. Usually based on my playing you can tell if I'm upset, happy, confused, or frustrated. :D Piano rocks. I just hate the lessons...

14. I love to write. (As you can probably tell by now.) Writing is my outlet, my way to let people know how I feel without putting myself directly out there. There's just something so soothing about the flow of my ideas onto paper. I may forget something if it's in my scatterbrain, but on paper, it'll stay for just a while longer... :D

15. I love word games and confusing people with meanings. It makes me feel smarticle.

16. I'm deeply religious and believe in God. He's my greatest ally and I wouldn't trade anything for his presence and comfort he provides in my life. With God at my side, I know that I can accomplish anything.

17. I love to sing, though sometimes I sound like a bullfrog. I would not, however, under any circumstances, sing in front of anyone for any sum of money. (Well... maybe a million dollars... :D)

18. Friends and family are what I live and love for. No matter where I turn, I'll always have someone to fall on who will promptly say, "Loryn you idiot! What are you doing?!" and help push me back to where I need to be. My only hope is that I'd be able to do the same thing for any of my friends if they ever needed it.

19. According to my little brother, I am a jerk. (Ha ha. Thanks Liam.) I'm sorry Liam. I'll try to stop being a jerk. But I love him anyways, even when he makes his stupid monkey eraser kiss me and when he calls me a jerk. :D

20. I am fiercely protective of those I love. If you hurt someone I love, you better hope that the witness protection program has a place for you on some desert island, because you'll have it coming for you. There is nowhere to hide.

Well, that's twenty, but I don't really feel done yet, so let me throw in a bonus one! :D

21. I love my music. It's like my life. Through my favorite songs and artists I feel and am able to express myself more openly than I could do even in writing. Songs are open for interpretation and connect with an emotion deep inside me, and every song down in that little music box at the bottom has a special meaning, good or bad, to me. Maybe someday I'll write a blog that details everything that those songs mean to me... :D

CORNY ADVICE: Why be afraid to be yourself? Beauty isn't something set on the cover of a magazine. It's something you have to find inside yourself before anyone else can fully appreciate it the way it should be appreciated. So, to heck with all those labels. Right now, it's all about being you.
